Darien was exposed to landscape photography in 2005 that was so dramatic and compelling that he decided a new DSLR was a must and purchased a Nikon and a wide angle lens. Immediately he started venturing out, exploring nature, and attempting to capture his own rich landscapes. After diving into landscape photography face-first and creating successful images, he began to focus on portraits. He found the whole experience vastly different, but surprisingly satisfying.

Darien lives photography. The driving force behind his work is a passion to explore the beauty in people, places and light. His work is a great example of bringing these things together to form something magical. His style is that of impact imagery, images that grab the attention of the viewer immediately and force them to feel something. Slight juxtapositions and contrasts dramatically woven and wrapped in carefully constructed light is what he specializes in. His goal is to create images that will not merely be seen, but felt. Though firmly planted in reality, his images have a dreamlike quality to them and he is not shy to combine and contrast colors to his full advantage.

Darien's weapons of choice are Canon 5D and 17-40L, White Lightning strobes, the sun and his heart. He is available for commercial, advertising and editorial photography projects.
